Watch: Garbage premiere ‘Blood For Poppies’ video

Things are ticking along nicely with the return of Garbage. The four-piece yesterday released a simple-yet-effective black and white video for their ‘Blood For Poppies‘ single, which – be warned – includes a rather gruesome reference to Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dali’s surreal short film Un Chien Andalou (Pixies fans will probably know what to expect here…)

Speaking about the ‘Blood For Poppies’ shoot, frontwoman Shirley Manson said:

“We piled into a transit van with the ridiculously talented team of Matt Irwin and Aaron Brown and hopped around little pockets of Los Angeles creating a gorgeous surrealist dream. We ate ice cream sandwiches in the sunshine and laughed a lot. I didn’t want the shoot to end.”

‘Blood For Poppies’ is taken from Garbage’s forthcoming album ‘Not Your Kind Of People‘, released May 15th. The track will be made available on limited-edition white vinyl for Record Store Day on April 21st. Lead single ‘Battle For Me‘ can also be heard now.
