Arcade Fire team up with Spike Jonze for ‘The Suburbs’ video

Arcade Fire needed to pull something pretty impressive out of the bag in order to beat their last video, the interactive, Google-powered ‘We Used To Wait‘ – and as luck would have it, they just happened to have visionary director Spike Jonze on speed dial.

The man behind legendary music videos for Weezer (‘Buddy Holly‘, ‘Island In The Sun‘), Bjork (‘It’s Oh So Quiet‘), Daft Punk (‘Da Funk‘), Fatboy Slim (‘Weapon of Choice‘, ‘Praise You‘) and countless others – not to mention the films Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and Where The Wild Things Are – came up with a brilliantly simple concept in which carefree teenagers lark about in a typical American town.

But something isn’t quite right in their neck of the woods…
