Children In Need

Here’s one we didn’t see coming, last night Snow Patrol teamed up with Cheryl Cole on ‘Set The Fire To The Third Bar‘. On the original Cheryl’s lines were sung by Martha Wainwright.

The highlights of the gig will be shown on BBC Children In Need next Friday, November 20.

  1. I do think that a few song writers should team up and write their OWN song for once, stop doing covers…

  2. That’s a bit harsh. If Snow Patrol didn’t write it, who did? The song’s written to have joint male/female vocals. Isn’t it up to Snow Patrol to choose the female part when they play it live?

  3. OK Cheryl, slow down and stick to what you do best, bubble gum pop, leave songs like “set the fire to the third bar” to the utterly unforgettable voice of martha- you are not in her league and the song warrants someone of her calibre- sorry Cheryl but you ruined the integrity of this haunting melodich song and Gary was completely drowned out!

  4. LA, you are just… there are no words to describe your stupidity.
Martha sang it great yes, but Cheryl sang it great as well!
Cheryl is amazing! Get over it!

Beautiful beautiful song! With Martha or with Cheryl, this song is simply beauitful!

  5. They need to bring this song out with cheryl, she sounds 10 x better then this martha person and they suited this song perfectly, just cos this song made cheryl sound brilliantly LA dont mean you can get all “do what you do best” jealousy that is.

    Good Song
