Freemasons ft. Sophie Ellis Bextor: Heartbreak (Make Me a Dancer) (video)
May 9th, 2009 by Silvan- Dancefloor stomper from a hot production team – yes
- Decent vocal – yes
- Visually appealing video – yes
Freemasons’ ‘Heartbreak (Make Me a Dancer)’ certainly ticks all the right boxes, yet it leaves us feeling strangely detached. It all seems a bit auto-pilot. Thoughts?

Personally, I love it. I see what you mean about a detached feeling. Maybe it’s because this isn’t actually Sophie by herself…its her on a featured track? There’s always something not quite the same when an artist you love is released as a featured vocalist.

it’s true. When Sophie does her own songs, they’re a bit more personal.
Maybe Freemasons were going for that clinical feel on purpose (it’s dance music after all).

I think it’s a good track. I’d love to hear another track from this combination.
