Lily Allen covers Womanizer

First she backs Britney up over her alleged ‘miming’ on the X-Factor, now Lily Allen shows her love for Ms Spears by covering Womanizer. As unlikely as it sounds, her version really works! Enjoy.

Oh and Ladyhawke covered the same song for Radio 1's Live Lounge. Not as great. What do you think of these covers?

Britney Spears: The Circus World Tour

Three months of waiting before Britney Spears kicks off her world tour, but the first details of her ‘Circus’ have started to leak. The Sun reports “Britney is well aware of what a roller coaster she has been on and she is determined that her recent life is reflected in the shows.”

Britney's new tour is said to be a three-act show, chronicling the pop star's rise to fame, her fall, and her recovery through a circus theme. It all sounds a bit like a E! True Hollywood Story, but with a happy ending!

“The first act sees the miserable star run away to join the circus. This mimics her slide into unhinged behaviour,” says the source.

“Her disturbing antics while suffering her meltdown are the focus of the second act, which takes place in the circus. She is seen having fun in this crazy world and falling in love with a circus freak.”

“The final act focuses on Britney’s salvation. She manages to prize herself away from the clutches of the circus to be reunited with her friends and family.”

AMAZING. Who knew a circus could be so much when you put Britney (or Take That) in it. Britney’s Circus World Tour kicks off in New Orleans on March 3 and will hit the UK on June 3 with an eight-night stand at London’s O2.

Take That - The Circus

Last week saw Britney’s ‘Circus’ arriving at various locations across the world, and tonight was Take That’s turn to showcase their similarly-titled new album ‘The Circus’. Their ITV special was more engaging and ever so British; i.e. a little cringey at times, but all the more entertaining.

Kicking off with latest single ‘Greatest Day’, they kept the momentum by following up with recent hits ‘Shine’, ‘Patience’ and ‘Rule The World’, as well as the old-school smashes ‘Never Forget’ and ‘Back For Good’.

Other highlights of the night included a pop quiz hosted by X-Factor parody Britain's Got The Pop Factor ‘winner’ Geraldine McQueen.

Overall it was a typically entertaining offering from the boys - though for a show intended to promote their new album, it played it very safe: they only performed three new songs, including their current single ‘Greatest Day’.

What did you think of ‘Take That Come to Town’?

OMG, it’s the new Britney video for Circus! We’ve already been given a sneak peak last week, and more was shown during Britney’s documentary ‘For The Record’, but this video is everything that comes to mind of the word ‘Circus’. Brit’s using her whip on the lions, while being surrounded by fire-eaters and elephants.

Britney Spears presents Circus

Britney Spears
marked her 27th birthday today with a stunning 2-song performance on Good Morning America.

The singer performed a new routine to next single 'Circus', and followed it with the same version of 'Womanizer' which she took to Germany, France and London last week.

During the live show, host Diane Sawyer remarked that there was 'a gazillion people' inside the big-top, including Britney's mother Lynne and two sons Jayden and Preston.

During the broadcast, birthday messages from Reese Witherspoon, John Travolta, Hugh Jackman, Taylor Swift and the cast of Desperate Housewives were played to a stunned Britney. She was also presented with a multi-tiered birthday cake which Sawyer claimed took 60 hours to make.

Spears capped the morning by personally announcing her 2009 North American tour – check the dates out on WAPS.

Happy birthday Britney!

Britney Spears

In addition to her 2 previously announced dates at London's O2, Britney Spears has now announced a full-scale North American tour, with rumoured support coming from Pussycat Dolls.

Discounting her poorly-received 2007 House of Blues club shows in which she performed under the pseudonym The M & M's, these will be Britney's first official concerts since 2004's Onyx Hotel world tour.

With Britney Spears performing on the X-Factor this evening, each of the contestants had to perform one of her hits. The popstar’s performance of ‘Womanizer’, was identical to her appearances at the Bambi Awards and Star Academy, so let’s hope she’ll do something new next week on the ‘Good Morning America Show’.

And how did the X-Factor contestants get on with her old material? Well, Diana cooed her way through ‘I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman’ (why IS she still on the show?).

Alexandra gave an energetic performance of ‘Toxic’.

Ruth showed us she had balls with ‘I Love Rock And Roll’ (it’s a shame she left the show this week).

Eoghan did his best with ‘Sometimes’.

And JLS did quite badly with ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’.

Britney fans watched with baited breath this evening as she took to Germany’s Bambi Award stage for a re-jigged version of ‘Womanizer’, her first live showing since 2007’s disastrous MTV VMA ‘Gimme More’ performance.

Spears took to the stage 45 minutes into the TV and media award ceremony for a circus-themed set which featured creepy clowns, rings of fire and human bowling.

Although Spears looked nervous, she appeared to gain confidence throughout and beamed at the end when Karl Lagerfeld appeared to present her with her award for Best International Pop Act.
