Professor Green
Lily Allen might have given up on recording her own music (let’s see how long that will last), but she doesn’t seem to mind to record some catchy lines for rapper Professor Green. And how did this collaboration happen?
“We got chatting on Facebook and I mentioned the track, which turned out to be one of her favourite songs. She suggested her singing the chorus,” remembers Green. “I didn’t take much persuading!” Allen subsequently took him on tour with her around the UK, Europe and Australia, bringing him onstage to perform the track. “Lily’s wicked. She’s straight-forward and honest, you always know where you’re at with her. Touring with her was amazing”.
Check out ‘Just Be Good To Green‘, which uses a sample by The S.O.S. Band’s 1983 ‘Just Be Good To Me‘, but we only seem to recall the 1990 remake ‘Dub Be Good To Me‘ by Beats International.
‘Just Be Good To Green’ is out July 5th on Virgin Records.
