Swedish-Congolese rapper Mohombi (as you do) has recorded a track with Nicole Scherzinger. The RedOne-produced ‘Coconut Tree‘ concerns beach-based romance beneath a coconut tree, and sounds entirely appropriate on a grim 2nd of January in the UK. One can only hope that it’s currently being marketed to an Australian audience, who can actually see the sun at the time of writing.
Mohombi’s throwaway eurodance sound with cheesy lyrics might not feature in any ‘best of lists’ come 2012, but you may find yourself humming along in July when it inevitably invades the soundtrack of your summer sojourn. Helpfully, it’s the kind of irritating song that makes you realise it’s definitely time to leave the pool after you’ve heard it six times and you’re already on your ninth mojito.
