Garbage are to make a comeback in 2012

Listen: WAPS select Garbage for BBC 6 Music’s ‘Now Playing 2012 Preview’!

This evening saw BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson taking listeners though his ‘Now Playing 2012 Preview‘, a show we were kindly asked to contribute to. Various blogs were approached and asked to select one act they were expecting big things from in the upcoming year, and of course we selected Garbage while everyone else picked indie bands we’d never heard of! Obviously Garbage’s new material isn’t available yet, so we suggested ‘Milk’ for old time’s sake. Here’s what we emailed in:

Garbage – Milk (We Are Pop Slags)
“We’re looking forward to the return of their alternative rock sound, which was surprisingly pop and will make a nice antidote to all the generic dance pop on the radio these days.”

And here’s the ‘Milk‘ video.

Read what the other blogs, including Faded Glamour, 4 Clubbers, and Dummy, suggested here. If you didn’t get a chance to listen to the show, you can listen again via the iPlayer here - we’re mentioned right after ‘Milk’, which is the opening track.

Who are you looking forward in 2012? Blog-sensation Lana Del Rey, indie-darling Ladyhawke, the ecently reunited Garbage or queen of pop Madonna? Or someone else entirely….
