Sophie Ellis Bextor announces new single and album for April 2010 (allegedly)

It's the new and improved Sophie Ellis Bextor

And here’s the latest from Sophie’s website:

Sophie Ellis Bextor has a sparkling new album in the works and we are now very proud to reveal the name of the first single!

‘Bittersweet’ will be the first release taken from Sophie’s new album – this April 2010! Written by the super-talented Freemasons, Biff and Hannah Robinson, the Freemasons have also worked their magic on producing the single.

It’s a good introduction to the fourth album because, as with the majority of the record, it’s a song you can dance to. The new tracks feature collaborations with Calvin Harris, Metronomy, Cathy Dennis, Richard X and Ed Harcourt.

  1. rite im no hater of sophie ellis bextor or anything…

but why on earth duz she get a whole post about her new album and single when christina’s new album (which will for sure be alot bigger and better) not get a mention when its been confirmed that it will be called ‘Bionic’ and the first single will be called ‘Glam’? this is BIG news….

im sick of forums just not paying any attention to her and giving her the respect she deserves

    pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffft!!!!!

sorry if i sound rude im just sticking up for my gurl!!!!

  2. Jamie, the dogs days are over.

I am reasonably excited about this album :)

  3. We don’t have a new picture or anything for Christina, it’s a bit hard to write a whole post based on 2 short titles alone…but don’t worry Jamie, we will definitely be covering Christina a LOT this year, we’re very interested to hear her new material!

  4. Thanks G thats all i needed to hear!

and Aaron :S please, the dogs days are over? shows u know alot about current music! we’ll see if u say this at the end of the year when she has taken over the charts once again and all the haterz, including your sorry arse, are left speechless!!!

  5. I’m really looking forward to Christina’s new album, but do hope it’s not going to be as self-indulgent as her previous album (Stripped was amazing, so more of that please). I’m sure sure she’ll pull it out of the bag though.

  6. I just believe your rant was rather over the top – She will never be back to her “Genie in a Bottle’” best i’m afraid

  7. And how the hell wud u know whether she’d b back to her best or not, for one the majority of people believe ‘stripped’ is her best body of work. She has worked with alot of class acts for this album (Sia, Goldfrapp, Ladytron) so mayb wait till the album is out until u say bad things about it and u luk like a rite pleb! u clerli dont hav any knowledge of her so its best u keep ur lame irrelevant opinions to urself…im afraid!

  8. woh, keep it friendly guys. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion about Christina. No need to attack each other over something that hasn’t even been released yet.

BTW my guess is that those weird teaser videos have something to do with Christina (or Goldfrapp is the other thought).
