Heatworld incorrectly reported on Friday that Amelle had left the Sugababes and been replaced by Jade Ewen.
Well, it turns out (allegedly – please note this news is coming from Keisha Buchanan and News of the World’s Showbiz Editor Dan Wootton) that Amelle, Heidi and management (not the group’s label Island) decided that sole original member Keisha had to go.
Wooton has claimed on Twitter that management and the remaining girls auditioned new members and started work on re-recording the album without consulting Keisha. Oooh, burn. In summary:
1) Keisha fired
2) Jade in
3) No original members left
4) Jade’s first (and only?) solo single ‘My Man’ is out today
5) Heidi probably hasn’t noticed

Shame, solo I was looking foward to solo Amelle. I think they should have got rid of Keisha before Get Sexy though, she looks too innocent to be a slut.

I’m so glad Keisha’s gone. I think she’s too much of a bitch. I never liked her. I’ve always like every other member. I think they should’ve brought either Mutya or Siobhan back though. This Jade chick can’t possibly be on the same level as Heidi and Amelle?

The backlash to this news has been so intense. Poor Jade’s in for a rough ride I think.
The only other band I can think of with no original members are Napalm Death. Are Sugababes embarking on a new grindcore direction then?
Fairport Convention have no original members, apparently, leading some people to dub them Fairport Confusion.
