First MPHO and now Little Boots – everyone’s queuing up again to cover Kate Bush’s 1985 classic ‘Running Up That Hill (Deal With God)‘. Placebo, of course, released their interpretation a few years ago.
We’ve been going on about MPHO (Mm0-poh) for a while now. During one of her live performances, she gave a great rendition of Kate Bush’ ‘Running Up That Hill‘. Realising how great it was, she’s now filmed it for YouTube for the world to enjoy.
And don’t forget to check out her excellent debut single single ‘Box ‘n Locks‘.
If you’re wondering what MPHO’s debut album ‘Pop Art’ is going to sound like, give her latest mixtape a go. It features five ‘Pop Art’ tracks sandwiched between classics from the likes of Grace Jones and Snap, plus newer cuts from Passion Pit, Madonna and Mr Hudson among others. See the full tracklisting after the jump.

It’s all go in the world of MPHO at the moment – WAPS was lucky enough to catch her at ‘London’s trendy Yo Yo’ last week, and very good she was too.
An arresting, energetic and absurdly confident live performer, MPHO immediately had the audience eating from the palm of her hand…and before we go any further, we’d like to apologise for that whopping cliché. Sorry.
Standout moments for us included the call-and-response anthem ‘Fix Ya Face’ (it’s about ’screwface gyals’, according to MPHO – i.e. pretty girls who look like they’re sucking a lemon); the summery bounce of her ‘Box N Locks‘ single; an amazing cover of Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’; and the super-sassy ‘Hips Go Pop’.
There’s all sorts of MPHO bits and bobs on MySpace to check out – but for now why not watch this ‘making of’ for the ‘Box N Locks’ video?
WAPS is very excited to finally bring you MPHO’s ‘Box N Locks’ video. You may remember we told all about MPHOhere.
‘Box N Locks’ is released on July 20th. If you want to hear more MPHO, why not go here – or tell her what you think of the ‘Box N Locks’ video on Twitter?
